Top Insurance Job: EDI Analyst Needed in Sacramento, CA

If you are an electronic data interchange (EDI) analyst, Insurance Relief™ has an exciting opportunity for you with a large insurance company in the Sacramento, California, area. The job of the EDI analyst is to work directly with customers and third-party administrators to maintain inbound and outbound EDI connections related to eligibility and payments.

The duties of the job include assisting customers and third-party administrators with implementing, testing and supporting inbound and outbound data connections, troubleshooting data problems, acting as a liaison between the business end and IT, overseeing the technical efforts connected with implementing EDI trading partners, and providing HIPAA-compliant guidance to third-party administrators and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

In addition, the EDI analyst will be responsible for participating in implementation meetings with clients who want to establish an EDI partnership, ensuring proper setup and conducting necessary testing and analysis to resolve any issues before release into the production environment, overseeing the production and support of EDI clients, decommissioning trading partners, supporting the business with EDI issues, triaging, and resolving EDI issues.

The EDI analyst will also implement process improvement to enhance the efficiency of EDI processes and prepare and maintain documentation that defines operational procedures and describes client requirements.

In order to qualify for this job, you must possess a clear understanding and working knowledge of HIPAA EDI protocol, have excellent written and oral communication skills, outstanding customer service skills, experience managing customer or vendor relationships, strong computer skills, an understanding of Internet applications and networks, and great organizational skills. You should also be detail oriented, a problem solver and self-starter, have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, work well under pressure, multitask and prioritize assignments, and be a fast learner.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of work experience and technical training. They should also have at least three years of progressively responsible experience in a technical production or applications support role.
