Insurance Relief™ has an immediate opening for a training and development specialist in Fresno, California.
The function of this job is to support the design, development and implementation of company training and development programs. The person taking this job must help foster a culture of hands-on learning, delivering solutions that drive personal growth of employees and their value to the company. The training specialist will be responsible for creating a curriculum that is applicable for all employees and aligned with the company’s strategic and cultural goals.
The training specialist will also play a major role in the implementation of new programs, along with evaluating and measuring business impact of these programs and their return on investment.
Other duties include assessing the needs of the company through surveys, employee interviews and consulting with managers. The training specialist should be able to use a variety of instructional techniques, including both traditional classroom learning and virtual learning.
The training specialist will also provide guidance and support to supervisors and team members on career development plans. They will also work to ensure that performance metrics are being met through training.
The person filling this position will also aid in creating user manuals and will perform other administrative tasks such as monitoring training costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and coordinating attendance.
Applicants for this position need to have a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience as an instructor in a business environment. Staffing industry experience is highly preferred. Candidates should also have experience in instructional design of either information and learning technology, virtual instructor-led training, or online classes. Experience in sales training, operations training, customer service training, or technology and management training is also required.
The training specialist needs to have excellent communication and presentation skills. They also need to have knowledge of training measurement and evaluation, along with good project management, project planning and management skills.
Other desired experience includes familiarity with training programs such as Learning Paths, SCORM or Train the Trainer programs; understanding of learning management systems; knowledge of microlearning; and video production.
