If you’ve ever wanted to enjoy living near one of the most vibrant cities on the planet (Los Angeles), and just steps away from the Pacific Ocean as well, and you’ve been wanting to improve lives by educating, mentoring and supporting patients, take a look at this great direct-hire opportunity for an RN in Santa Monica, CA, that of Health Coach Case Manager.
In short, in this position you’ll be “responsible for patient advocacy, health decision support, and coaching services for participants as they utilize health benefits provided by plan, coordinating a multidisciplinary team approach to program services and health improvement.”
You should have your current California Registered Nurse certification. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
As for where you’ll be working, here’s some info on Santa Monica:
Located just a few miles along Interstate 10 from downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica is an upscale city that’s right next to the Pacific Ocean.
It’s home to the famous Santa Monica Pier, a beautiful and wide sandy beach, a terrific shopping area in the 3rd Street Promenade, which is an area of Santa Monica just blocks from the beach that’s been shut to automobile traffic and is an absolutely great pedestrian shopping center, filled with great shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, and is just one big, happy people-watching opportunity waiting to be enjoyed.
To the north along Pacific Coast Highway is the celebrity enclave of Malibu. To the east of Santa Monica is downtown Los Angeles with its fantastic sports arena, Staples Center (note that there’s no “the” in the name), the Los Angeles Public Library, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (once the site of the Oscars presentation), Hollywood and the Kodak Theater (now the site of the Oscars), Beverly Hills, Universal Studios, the Getty Center, and just an unbelievable amount of things to do, see and experience.
The desert – as well as the lovely resort town of Palm Springs – is just 2.5 hours to the east of Santa Monica. Head there for a weekend getaway and you’ll feel as if you’ve traveled to another part of the planet (in a good way; Palm Springs is, indeed, quite relaxing and gorgeous in the stark beauty of the desert nestled to the east of the San Jacinto Mountains).
