Top Insurance Job: Employee Benefits Compliance Liaison in Fresno, CA

Insurance Relief™ has an opening for an employee benefits compliance liaison in Fresno, California.

The liaison will act as a consultant, working closely with the insurance agency’s compliance department and agency clients. He or she will need to stay abreast of California benefits compliance laws and regulations. The liaison will also be required to interact with and assess client needs regarding benefits compliance, as well as assisting clients in implementing solutions to remain in compliance. Other duties include working with the agency’s clients to explain compliance issues related to ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, and any other compliance issues that may come up. 

The person hired for this job will ensure clients’ compliance with all benefits plans, conduct critical reviews of clients’ staff and operations to ensure compliance, work along with agents in attending client meetings and assist with presentations on compliance, ensure that accurate benefits data, records and reports are maintained, and develop effective client communications and ongoing education to improve understanding of compliance.

The liaison will also assist in the management of clients’ annual benefits enrollment, develop and implement compliance training, build and maintain relationships with all clients, and stay abreast of changing laws and regulations in all areas of compliance.


This is a direct hire position. Applicants for the job should have at least five years of experience, as well as extensive knowledge of all areas of employee benefits compliance, including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ERISA. They should have a bachelor’s degree, as well as specialized training or certification in insurance or benefits compliance. Other requirements include experience working in a consultative position, a thorough understanding of state and federal regulations relating to benefits plans, and strong verbal, written and research skills. They should also be proficient in computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint, have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
