Top Insurance Job – Senior Employee Benefits Account Executive in Torrance, CA

A well-established and rapidly growing insurance agency in Torrance, California, is looking for a senior employee benefits account executive for group health insurance. This is a direct hire opportunity.

The account executive will work directly with clients and help a successful producer on a growing book of group health insurance. The company is looking for someone who will be a customer advocate and who is service oriented.

Among the duties of the account executive are assisting clients with open enrollments and presentations, overseeing the marketing of groups to company carriers and negotiating with underwriters for the best coverages at lowest cost.

The account executive also will be responsible for understanding client deficiencies in coverage and consulting with them on offerings that include a full array of benefits products. He or she will also help clients with any service issues that may come up and delegate responsibilities to benefit team members.

The person hired for this job is expected to have a familiarity with all aspects of group health insurance services, from the application process to policy analysis. He or she should have a knowledge of both traditional and self-funded plans, as well as knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and Medicare Part D.

The person hired for this position also should have strong organizational skills, top-notch verbal, written and presentation skills, the ability to prioritize and handle complex projects, and the ability to initiate and foster rapport with customers, co-workers and clients. Other requirements for the job include knowledge of various markets, forms, rates and coverages, and superior computer skills.

Basic requirements for the job include:

• A life and health license
• A knowledge of group health benefits insurance
• At least seven years experience working with an insurance agency or carrier in a similar position
